Stress is an enemy of happiness. When the human mind is preoccupied with a state of stress, damage can be caused to both physical and mental aspects of the body. In order to reach your goals, the stress in your mind must be destroyed. Set aside a period of time each day when you can be alone, clear your thoughts, and completely relax. You can increase how good you feel about yourself and how at peace you feel by using this time to relax.
You will miss many opportunities to develop personally if you put off making decisions. Even if you don’t have all of the information you would like to have, don’t fear decision making. When you make good decisions, it builds up your self esteem and your instincts. Even mistaken decisions are valuable because they provide instructive learning experiences. When you make a wrong choice, you are likely to make a better one next time.
Use your core principals to your advantage. Most people have a system of beliefs and principles they subscribe to. When your core principles are well-thought-out and defensible, acting in accordance with them will improve your self esteem. Best of all, following your beliefs encourages consistency, and this is a much desired character trait.
Write up a motivational speech for yourself. Make a self-empowering post-it note or note card. Always keep it on you, and read it whenever you need a boost. Even better, read it aloud on video and watch the video often. “Why would I want to do this?”, you may be asking.
Learning more about yourself is the best way to help yourself grow. Be nice and honest with yourself so that as time goes on, you can enjoy knowing that you know yourself best.
